The Highland Tool Co. was a secondary name used by the Louisville Axe & Tool Co. In some respects it might be considered an alias but in effect it is believed to have been a company that existed on paper for the purposes of providing a competitive brand to the customers of the Louisville Axe & Tool Co. It would appear that the name of the company was chosen based on the location of the parent company which was in Highland Park, Kentucky.
